Fred Hill serves as the First Baptist Fairlea Director of Grounds & Facilities, as a member of the Church Council, and as a member of the Disaster Relief Team. He is a retired civil engineer with a talent for fixing things. His career spans 35+ years during which he served as a sustainability officer, public works director, and a city engineer, and owned his own business, building and repairing electric motors and generators. In addition, Fred is a master carpenter, plumber, and electrician. He especially likes to develop green spaces, including the creation of wetlands projects and is experienced in water system design and implementation.
Fred enjoys serving God by using his skills and talents to ensure FBC Fairlea grounds and facilities are in good working order. In his spare time, he is an avid deep sea diver and has participated in dives in the Bahamas, South America, and the North Carolina coast as an underwater bridge inspector. Fred and his wife, Drema, enjoy traveling together and spending time with their four children and five grandchildren.
