Beth Shafer, a Homeschool Mom, and her husband Russ, a skilled electrician, have been married since 2013 and have two precious daughters, Rylee and Reagan, and one dog, George. (LOL-He’s family, too!)
Beth has had a life-long interest in children’s ministry. God touched her heart in a very real way as a young child and because of that, she is adamant that no one is too young to walk with God. In 2020 Beth and her husband were inspired to use their family’s love of doing outdoor activities together to begin a children’s program called “Journey Kids”. This ministry uses the outdoors to connect with kids and families, meeting throughout the year for Bible studies, singing, playing games, and hiking. Beth has served in various children’s and youth ministry capacities at other churches and at FBC has actively served in AWANA, Vacation Bible School, and Children’s Church.
Beth also has a strong heart for global missions, having been to Niger, Africa five times on medical mission trips. She says she hopes to foster a love of missions in her daughters and all the children she ministers to. Her fondest desire is to pour the Word of God into the hearts of students, watching them grow in their relationship with God as they learn to stand on the truth of His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit!
