Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him”.  Matthew 2:1-2 

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Lord, the calendar calls for Christmas; we have traveled this way before. During this advent season, let us see what we have never seen before, accept what we have refused to think, and hear what we need to understand. Be with us in our goings that we may meet You in Your coming. –Donald J. Shelby
