Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of First Baptist Church of Fairlea! We believe that anyone who has professed Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior is immediately brought into the family of God as a Christian. We also believe it is a privilege to be a part of a local church body. As a result, we want to give you and our church an opportunity to know each other better.

A prospective member must profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior, give evidence of a changed life, have been baptized by immersion, and agree to abide by the church’s constitution (including the Statement of Faith and the Covenant) and its bylaws.

Our “Discover FBC Class” meets for approximately 8 weeks on Sundays from 10:00-10:45 AM. During your time in this class, you will learn about our church’s history, constitution, and bylaws, church organization, and ministries. You will also have the opportunity to personally spend time with our Pastor and his wife while meeting others who are interested in calling First Baptist home. After completing the class, you are eligible to become a member of FBC. If at the end of the class the participant decides to join, he or she will gain voting rights, receive a deacon that will pray and encourage him/her, and be a part of our family.

Active members will vote in the following matters:

  • new pastors and deacons
  • the annual budget of the church
  • acquisition of real property and associated indebtedness
  • disposition of all or substantially all of the church’s assets
  • amendments to the constitution or bylaws
  • merger or dissolution of the church

Any other major event or decision as designated by the deacons

Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to getting to know you better.
